Who this policy is from
Chihari Resources Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. Any question about this policy, and any request to see, correct or delete your information, should go to info@chihari.com.
What we collect
When you submit a sourcing request we collect the details you enter: your name, company, business email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, customer type, delivery location, and the technical content of the request, including manufacturer, model, part number, serial number, quantity and any vessel or project reference.
We also receive any files you attach: data-plate photographs, drawings, parts lists, manuals and previous quotations.
Our web host records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and request time as part of running and securing the site.
Why we hold it
We use your request to assess it, approach suppliers, prepare a quotation and, once you approve it, place and coordinate the order. That is processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and to perform it afterwards.
We keep a record of the request, the quotation, your approval and the purchase because an accurate purchasing trail is the core of the service, and because tax and company-records obligations require it.
Who else sees it
To source an item we approach European manufacturers, distributors and specialist suppliers with the technical details of your request. We share what is needed to obtain a quotation, usually the manufacturer reference, quantity and supporting images.
Where an order proceeds, freight forwarders, customs brokers and delivery agents receive the commercial and consignee information needed to move and clear the goods.
Our website host and email provider process the data as part of operating those services. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.
Information moving between countries
This service moves information between Europe and Nigeria by design. Your request is shared with suppliers and logistics providers in whichever countries a given order touches, and only to the extent needed to source, move and account for it.
How long we keep it
Requests that do not lead to an order are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted, so a returning customer’s earlier enquiry is still on file. Where an order proceeds, the request, quotation, approval and purchase record are kept for at least six years.
Your rights
You can ask us to do any of the following, and we will respond within 30 days:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete information we no longer need.
- Restrict how we use it, or object to a particular use.
- Provide a copy in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where our processing relies on it.
Send any of these to info@chihari.com. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or to the data protection authority in your own country if you are in the European Economic Area.
Cookies and tracking
This website runs no advertising trackers, no analytics profiling and no third-party marketing pixels. WordPress and the form software set only the functional cookies needed for the site and the request form to work. If we add analytics later, this page will say so first.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and access to submissions is limited to the people who need it. Please do not upload passwords or banking credentials. We will never ask you for a password, and we will never ask for bank details by email.
Changes
We update this page when our handling of information changes. The date beside our details shows when it was last revised.
